On April 6-9, 2007 I had the privilege of attending the Southern California Dirttime
Rendezvous, an informal gathering of friends and families interested in wilderness
survival and primitive skills. This outstanding event, organized by Dude McLean and
Alan Halcon, was held at Anza Borrego Desert State Park in Southern California.

How is it that people of such diverse backgrounds can come together and find so much joy in being together? I don't know. Many have asked the same question. I have a possible answer. Perhaps it's because people who share an interest in primitive skills share a belief in traditional values. Regardless of the answer, I am grateful for these friends and for this place and for the time we had together. |
