Gould Mesa - May 30, 2008

I made a quick trip to California for the weekend, so on Friday I took a leisurely stroll up the Arroyo Seco to Gould Mesa. No trip to Gould Mesa would be complete without a swim, but out of respect for the viewer there are no swim photos included here.

One of several creek crossings on the way to Gould Mesa.

As I was crossing the creek I saw this piece of yucca cordage in the water -- a sure sign that one of Christopher Nyerges' survival class has been here!

The tree shaded trail made for a very pleasant walk.

A wonderful old oak, quite common to the San Gabriel mountains.

Ivy lined path.

A glimpse of the rugged terrain which borders this canyon.
